Sponsor a Kurumba Art Workshop

The success of our revival and awareness drive rests on our ability to sustain Art Worshops in the Nilgiris over a prolonged period of time.  We regularly conduct workshops in tribal hamlets and remote Panchayat primary and Middle schools in the hill region of Nilgiris.  Each workshop is attended by 10 – 15 young children in the age group of 8 – 14 years.  Each school or hamlet is visited several times over a 6 months period and interested students are given an opportunity to learn and develop their skills at the Kurumba painting style from one of our participating Kurumba artist. KARI offers students all materials like colours, brushes, Art Books, organizes the events, conducts art competitions to encourage high performers, hands our certificates, etc.

You can now be a proud sponsor of such an event in a remote tribal hamlet or a Panchayat Primary / Middle School in the Nilgiris.  If you can, we would also like you to participate in the event you sponsor. For furhter information please contact us.

Art Products

Our artists and young children diligently put their hands and skills to various products that can be purchased to support their efforts.  The Kurumba Painting style motifs adorn and embellish various products.  Please visit the Art Products page on our site.

These products are all made from re-cycled materials and are excellent for your own use, home decoration,  personal and corporate gifts, etc.  All proceeds of these sales go towards promoting the Kurumba Art in the Nilgiris.

Your gift truly makes a difference.  Your generosity will help us to reach out to more tribal hamlets and children to spread awareness of this art form.   We need funds, supplies of stationary, etc. to keep this initiative alive.

(Any support for our initiative will also entitle you to claim 80G tax benefit)
