Mercy Home (orphanage) Children learn Kurumbas art

Great Job by our children at Mercy Home

For those of you who have been following the work of One Earth Foundation, will be familiar with Mercy Home – n orphanage run by a pastor and his wife in the Nilgiris.  The 14 abandoned or orphaned children are special and we try and support this wonderful home in whatever way we can.  Well, we thought it would be interesting to spend a Saturday morning with the children teaching them the Kurumbas style of painting.

The kids had a great time and some of the efforts were just fantastic.  This was our first camp and we will be back soon.  We certainly don’t want to miss out on any potential Picasso’s amongst our kids.

KARI is an initiative by One Earth Foundation to create awareness about the dying art form of Kurumbas style of painting, train young Kurumbas children and to provide livelihood opportunities to current and upcoming artists.  For further information, please contact
