Students from Halakkarai PUMS

One Earth Foundation received an over whelming response to its Kurambas Art Camp at the Halakkarai Panchayat Union Middle School.  the camp was held on the 15th of July and 15 students from grades 4th till 8th had signed up.  We had to limit the participation to 8 students and ensured the Head Mistress Ms. Elsi that we will conduct additional camps in the near future.  While the 2 hour camp was in progress additional 20 students showed interest.

The School is situated in the spectacular valley North East of Coonoor.  The participants were students from the village of Halakkarai and largely from the Badaga community. Their enthusiasm was very encouraging and their artworks were excellent.  The follow up Camp for this group will be held in early August.  Our special thanks to the Head Mistress and Mr. manikandan who were very supportive.  Some images of our camp are attached.
